this is, how the layout looks now:
The Southern & Gulf RR is an indoor Layout.
It is the fourth "serious" layout I am building, since I got my first LGB starterpack for X-mas 1970 (or was it '69?)
by the way - what is a "layout?
It can be a handfull of track, thrown on the ground or floor or it can be a beautiful detailed miniature world. Or anything between. My goal is to create a miniature world in a fictive southern US setting at the second half of the 19th century.
The scale of my layout would be best described as "rubberscale". that is owed to the fact, that i got a huge collection of figures and buildings in scales from 1:32 to 1:24 - while my rolling stock (mainly LGB and Playmobil) are from 1:22.5 to 1:20.3 scale.
the longterm goal is to use the compromise of 1:29

Die Southern & Gulf RR Modellbahn ist eine Innenanlage.
Sie ist die vierte "richtige" Anlage, seit ich 1970 oder 69 mein erstes Starterpack zu Weihnachten bekam.
Das Thema sind fiktive Landschaften und Orte der suedlichen USA in der zweiten Haelfte 19. Jahrhundert.
Die Anlage wird im famosen "Gummiscale" gehalten sein. ich habe eine grosse Sammlung Figuren und Gebaeude in den Maßstaeben 1:32 bis 1:24 - die Fahrzeuge dagegen (vorwiegend LGB und Playmobil) sind mit 1:22,5 und 1:20,3 deutlich groesser.
langfristig werden Gebaeude und Fahrzeuge auf den Kompromiss von 1:29 geaendert.
